Course Details & Schedule
When you first set up your course, you have to set a few things like a course title, or a run number if you rerun an existing course).

The Details & Schedule screen allows you to update all the important information about your course, when it runs, and how it appears in your catalog and the users' dashboards.

Below is the full list of details you can manage.


Basic Information

Organisation

  • Status: Required

  • Description: Identifies the organisation or institution managing and hosting the course.

Course Number

  • Status: Required

  • Description: A unique identifier code assigned to the course within the platform.

Course Run

  • Status: Required

  • Description: Specifies the specific term, semester, or iteration of the course being delivered.

Course Summary Page URL

  • Status: Automated

  • Description: The generated direct web link to the specific course landing page, used by learners for enrolment and platform access.

Course Pacing

  • Status: Required (cannot be changed once a course has started)

  • Description: Determines the progression model of the learning delivery.

    • Instructor-paced: The course author defines release dates for content and specific due dates for assessments.

    • Self-paced: Provides suggested timelines based on the registration date and expected duration, allowing learners flexible adjustment of assignment dates.


Course Schedule

Course Start Date & Time (UTC)

  • Status: Required

  • Description: Configures the exact date and time in Coordinated Universal Time when the course content becomes accessible to enrolled learners.

Course End Date & Time (UTC)

  • Status: Optional

  • Description: Configures the final date and time when active delivery finishes and the course closes.

Enrolment Start Date & Time (UTC)

  • Status: Required

  • Description: Determines the opening window when learners are allowed to register and enrol into the course run.

Enrolment End Date & Time (UTC)

  • Status: Optional

  • Description: Sets the final deadline date and time after which no further learner registrations are permitted for the course run.


Allow Course Sharing

Share Course Between Organisations

  • Status: Optional

  • Description: Enables the content configuration to be made accessible to external organisations on the platform, allowing them to spin up new independent course runs.


Course Navigation Settings

Enable the Sidebar?

  • Status: Optional

  • Description: Toggle to display or hide the vertical sidebar menu within the Learning Portal interface.

Enable the Course Navigation?

  • Status: Optional

  • Description: Toggle to control the visibility of the primary top navigation tabs for structural portal movement.

Allow SCORM Redirect / SCORM Redirect URL

  • Status: Optional

  • Description: Enables a direct target routing address to external SCORM package packages or linked third-party learning integrations.


Course Filters

Course Topic

  • Status: Optional

  • Description: Dropdown selector to index the course under specific academic or functional subject matter categories.

Course Level

  • Status: Optional

  • Description: Dropdown selector to establish the target difficulty tier (e.g., introductory, intermediate, advanced).

Course Type

  • Status: Optional

  • Description: Dropdown selector to define the delivery format or specific training classification.


Course Details

Course Language

  • Status: Required

  • Description: Sets the primary spoken or written language of instruction. This value drives portal search filtering and localises the system text fields used during bulk email communications.


Introducing Your Course

Course Title

  • Status: Required (character limit: 50)

  • Description: The primary naming display designation visible on the course summary and catalogue spaces.

Course Subtitle

  • Status: Optional (character limit: 150)

  • Description: A supporting contextual text line appearing below the title on the summary page to expand on the topic.

Course Duration

  • Status: Optional (character limit: 50)

  • Description: Text-based display stating the overall timeframe required to complete the course run.

Course Description

  • Status: Optional (character limit: 1000)

  • Description: Comprehensive narrative outline detailing the syllabus, goals, and learning journey displayed on the summary page.

Course Short Description

  • Status: Optional (character limit: ~150)

  • Description: A brief descriptive summary snippet that reveals itself on the catalog page when a user hovers over the course name.

Course Overview

  • Status: Optional (HTML formatting supported)

  • Description: A rich text region used to input introductory sections, list prerequisites, or host Frequently Asked Questions directly on the course summary page.

Course Card Image

  • Status: Required (JPEG or PNG format supported)

  • Description: File path reference for the square visual asset that populates the main course catalogue listings.

Course Banner Image

  • Status: Optional (JPEG or PNG format supported)

  • Description: File path reference for the landscape background graphic utilized across the top of the course summary page.

Course Video Thumbnail Image

  • Status: Optional (JPEG or PNG format supported)

  • Description: File path reference for the placeholder splash screen graphic applied over the introductory course video player.

Course Introduction Video

  • Status: Optional

  • Description: Field to insert the alphanumeric identification string of a YouTube video to act as a promo or welcome clip on the summary layout.

Learning Outcomes

  • Status: Optional

  • Description: Defined structural fields to explicitly enumerate the core competencies or knowledge points a learner will acquire.

Instructors

  • Status: Optional

  • Description: Profiles detailing biographies, titles, and photographs of the academic or corporate training team delivering the unit.

Requirements

  • Status: Optional

  • Description: Outlines explicit expectations or baseline baselines regarding equipment or preparation needed before taking the course.

Hours of Effort Per Week

  • Status: Optional

  • Description: Estimated time requirement value indicating the weekly study commitment expected of active participants.

Prerequisite Course

  • Status: Optional

  • Description: Establishes another platform course listing that learners must complete prior to starting this specific unit.
